Finding hope
Connecting to the inner knowledge that everything that we go through in our lives, however difficult and painful, is given to us to grow, to expand, to become more than we were before.
One might wonder why finding hope is important for working with clients. It has to do with learning a new way of looking at the pain and difficulties in our lives. We cannot undo the pain and the difficulties, but if we as therapists learn to see that all the pain and difficulties of our own life were meaningful and have contributed to our depth as human beings, then, when the client comes into our field, he or she may feel hope and meaning too.
